GAMMA

Napkin folding machine

Description

Gamma is designed for folding flat linen, such as napkins, pillowcases, towels, and other types of linen commonly used in ironing activities.
This high-performance napkin folder ensures excellent folding quality and high productivity. It is available in various versions, mainly differentiated by the working width.
Operators can easily select the desired format through the touchscreen panel, thanks to the ability to store final formats in the work programs.
Gamma can be positioned directly at the exit of the ironing line, behind a folder, or used independently with manual feeding. A distinctive feature of this machine is the presence of two folding phases with mechanical blade movement on a suction table.
The first phase handles longitudinal folds, while the second manages transverse folds.
This technical solution offers numerous advantages, including easily varying the format, high hourly productivity, visual control over all folding phases, and simplified maintenance.
In the available programs, selecting different folding modes, all formats, and machine setting values is possible.

Features of the standard model

  • Designed for folding small and medium-sized linen
  • Different working widths available (600, 700, 800, 1000, 1100, 1200)
  • Versatility of use: manual or integrated feeding into the ironing line
  • The Variable Folding Table allows for varying the width of the initial longitudinal folds
  • Excellent adherence to the folding plane thanks to the suction system along the longitudinal guides
  • Precise stacking thanks to the blase overturning system
  • High hourly productivity (up to 2000 items/h)
  • Configuration of folding programs via the touchscreen panel (even remotely). Ability to program up to 50 different folding formats

All Options

Available from the 700 model onwards, manages items up to 2400 mm in length and 600 mm in width.

When used with manual insertion, the operator return belt is a component that enhances efficiency and smooth production processes. It enables the operator to interact with finished products or processed material quickly and conveniently, optimizing workflow and facilitating quality control.
Pieces are first stacked by the machine and then transferred to the operator.

The “bypass” option temporarily eliminates or avoids a specific part of the folding process. It can be useful for handling different materials, repairs and maintenance, special production requests, temporary business interruptions, quality checks, or sampling.

The 1st and 2nd fold blades are mounted before the paddles and slide-on bushings.
They are essential for stiffer items that are not effectively held by suction (unstarched linens).

MES signals (Manufacturing Execution System) are data generated during industrial production and include information about production, quality, resource availability, and maintenance. They are used to monitor and control production operations in real-time, improving efficiency, traceability, and process quality.

The “Jaws III and IV fold” option provides an additional grip at the height of the transverse blades:
four clamps will securely grasp the napkin and hold it in place during the final two folds, ensuring an impeccable result.

Instead of starting the machine automatically or in continuous mode, this option gives the operator direct control over the startup phase. It is useful in situations where particular attention to detail is required or when commencing production with a customized piece is desired.

With this option, the machine can fold longer items compared to its standard configuration. It is useful when there is a need to fold larger or special items that exceed the normal dimensions.

This option allows the machine to automatically detect the optimal position and alignment of the workpiece. Essentially, the machine can determine on its own where to place the workpiece within its processing cycle without manual intervention from the operator.
This feature is especially useful when working with workpieces of varying sizes or shapes.
Automatic workpiece centering enhances process efficiency, reduces the need for manual adjustments, and ensures precise and uniform processing, as the workpiece is automatically positioned in the best possible way to achieve the desired results.

Operator control panel series HME07, 7″ screen, to be positioned at the beginning of the ironing line to modify programs and manage alarms. Provided with Ethernet LAN10/100 connection (software for production data processing and remote services management in line with Industry 4.0 directive not included).

Operator control panel series HME04, 4,6″ screen, to be positioned at the beginning of the ironing line to modify programs and manage alarms. Provided with Ethernet LAN10/100 connection (software for production data processing and remote services management in line with Industry 4.0 directive not included).

Standard color: RAL 9001 white – RAL 4004 burgundy red

A structure that facilitates visual inspection and maintenance of the machines, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the system.

The rails provide a predefined and stable path for the machine’s movement, allowing greater precision in position and orientation. They facilitate maintenance operations by enabling easy access for tasks such as cleaning and component replacement.
